The Journals of Adam and Eve, was written by Ed. Weinberger, a celebrated comedy writer for many of the great sitcoms in the 70’s through 90’s like The Mary Tyler Show and Taxi. His fresh take on the first couple on Earth is influenced by the anonymous writers of Genesis, the poet John Milton in Paradise Lost, and, of course, Mark Twain’s Diary of Adam and Eve. Weinberger’s play imagines what Adam was thinking when he saw Eve for the first time in the Garden of Eden. It’s a modern view of how one man and one woman get along as they deal with surviving everyday life and an eventual exile from their home.
Among his other achievements, Mr. Weinberger has won a Peabody Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and nine Emmy Awards. His brilliantly written play is a delightful romp through the first couple’s trials and tribulations. It’s a truly delightful look at the world’s first love story |
